ANNA POLINARI

ARTIST, SINGER, MUSICIAN, VOCAL COACH

Anna Polinari is an Italian soul singer and pianist, whose vocal style is deeply rooted in soul and the wider spectrum of related genres. Over the years, she has collaborated with a variety of Italian and international artists, contributing her voice to a wide range of musical projects.

Born in 1992 in Verona, Italy, Anna’s passion for music began at an early age and quickly became the central focus of her life. She started her musical journey with five years of classical piano lessons at a private school near her hometown, followed by a couple of years studying electric guitar, and eventually dedicated herself to developing her voice through formal singing lessons.

After earning a degree in Languages at the University of Trento, Anna pursued professional music studies at Accademia Lizard in Verona. She later graduated with top marks from Conservatorio Antonio Bonporti in Trento, further honing both her technical skills and artistic expression.

During this period, Anna also began performing professionally, taking part in numerous live music projects across Italy. Her repertoire spans pop, soul, funk, blues, and R&B, reflecting both her versatility and her deep connection to rhythm, melody, and emotional expression.

In 2019, Anna founded the neosoul collective Stereonoon, releasing two albums on Spotify: Yeah. And Stuff, featuring guitarist Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), and Places We Can Go Hide, which includes a collaboration with pianist Xantone Blacq (Amy Winehouse). The second album was released on all digital platforms by the Milan-based label Digital Noises, and both albums received airplay on several French and UK radio stations.

After concluding her work with the band, Anna launched her solo project, Anneesoul. She initially released two singles, "Plane to Malibu" and "Late Night", which showcased her evolving sound and artistic vision. These tracks were later included in her debut EP, Nice and Slow, marking an important step in defining her identity as a solo artist.

In 2021, Anna began collaborating with the guitarist Giacomo Turra, gaining international exposure with Giacomo Turra & The Funky Minutes. The band performed at major festivals including Java Jazz Festival and Bali Jazz Festival (Indonesia), Soul Live Festival (Netherlands), and Jazz by the Cove (Singapore).

Their first USA tour in fall 2023 took them to cities such as New York, Boston, Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta. They also toured Italy, playing in Milan, Rome, and Bologna, and returning to Rome in November 2023 for another show.

In February 2024, the band launched a European tour, performing in Milan, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Munich, Brno, and Vienna. In Amsterdam, Anna shared the stage with renowned saxophonist Candy Dulfer (Prince). The tour continued through Northern Europe in March, with shows in Tallinn, Tartu, Helsinki, and Stockholm, concluding in April 2024 at La Nau in Barcelona.

Since 2019, Anna has been working with Interstellar Orchestra, a project created by guitarist Paolo Negri and inspired by Hans Zimmer’s live concerts. The idea behind it is to blend modern and classical instruments, going beyond the usual boundaries of a band or orchestra.
After more than two years of developing arrangements and sound design, the project debuted in 2022 with a live theater recording and its first concert at Arci Tom in Mantua, which sold out immediately, followed by a performance at the Mantova Film Fest in front of over 600 people.
Today, the ensemble brings together 23 professional musicians, all fully involved in the creative process. Each arrangement is designed to highlight individual personalities, and improvisation adds a unique touch to every performance. Over the past years, the orchestra has grown, performing in cities such as Bassano del Grappa, Treviso, Jesolo, Padua, Brescia, Bolzano, and at the prestigious Live Music Club in Trezzo sull’Adda.

Currently, Anna continues to perform as a singer and keyboardist, taking part in live projects across Northern Italy while developing her solo project, Anneesoul.

At the same time, she works in Verona at Fucina Culturale Machiavelli as a modern choir instructor and vocal coach, supporting students at all levels—whether they are beginners or advanced singers—who wish to improve their technique. Her teaching is primarily focused on funk, pop, soul, and R&B music.
